David Hall has been an oilman for over 47 years. Raised in Ithaca, Michigan, he promoted his first well at 19 years old in 1959 near Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

Succussfully participating in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, Hall moved back to Michigan to take advantage of a new play and formed Reef Petroleum Corporation in 1972. Headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, by 1978 RPC had participated in 350 wells and had producing mineral interests in over 400 others. Reef became the most active independent in Michigan with oil and gas reserves valued at over $60 million.

In 1981, Reef Petroleum had sales of over $26 million. This, combined with a five-year growth rate of 694% carried RPC to national recognition. In 1982 Reef Petroleum was named #188 in INC Magazine's "500 Fatest Growing Private Companies" in the United States.

Subsequent oil and gas companies were formed in the 1980s and 1990s and continue to explore for hydrocarbons using the latest technologies. Hall's companies have participated with major operators and/or promoted wells themselves in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, North Dakota, and Montana.

In the early 1990s Ford Motor Land Company leased neaerly 4000 acres to one of Hall's managed companies, United Security Associates, opening up its Michigan Proving Grounds near romeo to oil and gas exploration for the first time. USA's two discovery wells are now on production there not far from the high speed test track.

Through his associated companies, Hall is or has been involved in over 750 oil and gas wells within the State of Michigan through working and/or royalty interests.

Over the last 47 years, Hall has served in state and national industry organizations. He and his wife, Jill, have also served in numerous civic, educational, and Christian organizations.
